PVD, which stands for Physical Vapour Deposition, gives the objects exceptional colours and shades. It consists of the deposition of metallic particles through vaporization in a vacuum chamber. The coating is welded on an atomic level to the stainless steel, giving the material greater hardness and resistance to rubbing and corrosion, thereby preventing the formation of rust or oxides. Thanks to the use of non-toxic materials such as titanium and zirconium, PVD is also used in the biomedical field as scalpels or surgical blades.
The monobloc knife is made as a single piece of steel. Compared to the hollow-handled knife, which consists of two parts, in the one-piece knife there are no gaps between the handle and blade. When you hold this type of knife, you get a pleasant feeling of solidity
WASHING: For daily cleaning, use water with pH dish detergent neutral (Ph = 7), avoiding acid products. Always rinse thoroughly to remove the products used for cleaning; dry well with a clean and soft cloth. If the dishwasher does not perform a proper drying, provide manually. PRECAUTIONS: Do not use steel scourers, abrasive sponges and abrasive powders, or steel burnish machines; their use could cause the removal of the PVD layer. Avoid prolonged contact with food products, for example tomato residues, mayonnaise, eggs, coffee, red wine, salt, vinegar, etc. For the restoration of the articles with limestone stains it is possible to use one of the specific products available on the market – appropriately diluted with water.
